We have different publishing options according to the work involved. Whichever option you choose proposal it will receive the same care attention to detail. We are here to offer advice on the book’s suitability for publication and a give costing without charge. Details on cost can be obtained once we see the proposal.
Option one – Full publishing
We will review your proposal and send you any comments on its content, style and layout that are relevant. On confirmation of our acceptance, we will work with you to fine-tune your book. You will work closely with one of our editors through the typescript preparation and proofing stages. Our designers will prepare the page layout and finalize the cover design with you.
Through our global network of wholesalers and distributors, your book will be made available to over 12,500 booksellers throughout the world in addition to all the major on-line chains. You, as the author, will receive a royalty payment for each book sold. We will also assist the author with the local marketing of the book.
Option two -- Up-to-print
For some authors, writing a book can simply be an end in itself. A book on your own family history, for instance, may be something to be shared just with family and near friends. If you do not want to attract wider sales to your book, the additional time and costs involved in trying to do so is unwarranted. Alternatively you may choose us just to produce you book and then promote, market and distribute the book yourself. You will of course make more profit on each book sold by doing the work yourself, but do consider carefully how you propose to reach your potential readers and to distribute your book internationally.
Option three - Bulk order
This is mainly
for organizations that produce material for reports or meetings and that require
a certain quantity of books for their own use. A wide choice of book formats and
styles is available, including large format and full colour books. Simply
contact us for details.
Option
four – Re-publish
If you have a previously-published book that is out-of-print and you want to re-publish it with a newer and fresher look, to update it, or maybe to produce an exact facsimile copy, we can work from your original material or a copy of your book and re-originate it for printing.

There will be many factors that determine the level of complexity and hence the fee, in publishing your book: the size of your manuscript; how well prepared and presented it is; the amount of editing required; the type of cover design; the number of photos or illustrations; the book format; the size of the first print run and the extent of the promotion work.
We
can give you a quote once we have seen your proposal. However, we provide some
guideline as to how much you can expect to pay for your book.
1.
Full publishing option
Prices
start from £400. For this you can expect to get a paperback (softcover) book of
up to 72 pages in a choice of page sizes up to 234 x 156 mm.
2.
Reviewing your manuscrip
We
make no charge for our initial review of your proposal and the assessment
of your manuscript. We will normally be able to tell you at this stage if we are
interested in publishing your book.
3. Critical
review
This
requires a more in-depth review of your manuscript, normally undertaken by our
experienced editors. For small books, of around 70 pages or less, we usually
make no charge for this service. For larger or more complex books we charge
£25–£50, although some high-level technical/scientific books may require the
services of a reviewer experienced in the topic and a larger fee may be
appropriate. Should we be willing to publish your book, any review charge would
be refunded on signing the publishing agreement.
4. Editing
It
is necessary for all manuscripts to be professionally edited. While the author
is responsible for the accuracy of the contents of their book, the editing
process will identify grammatical, typographical and spelling errors,
and inconsistencies of content and style. Our charge for this service is
normally £2.40 per 1000 words, although very badly prepared or complex work may
need to be charged at a higher rate. We will advise you beforehand in such
cases.
5.
Indexing
If
your book required an index and you are not able to provide one, we are able to
have one prepared for you. Cost will depend upon the subject matter and the
level of indexing required.
6.
Paper proofs
For
authors who are unable to check digital proofs, which we supply free of charge
in PDF file format, or for those who prefer to be supplied with hard copy to
read, we will be pleased to supply them. Our current price for this service is
£0.15 per page/per proof, plus postage and packing.
7.
Cover design
We
will be pleased to receive your ideas and proposals for your book's cover. If
you have some of your own photos that are appropriate, we will do our best to
use them. Prices for covers start from as little as £60.
